Reorganisation at the Department of Neuroscience

The Department of Neuroscience in the Faculty of Medicine is currently in the process of reorganisation. These pages provide up-to-date information about the process, the reasons behind the reorganisation, answers to frequently asked questions, etc. 

The purpose of this page is to inform staff and other stakeholders about the ongoing process of reorganisation as openly and transparently as possible. These pages will be updated continuously and all information that the Head of Department has emailed to all members of staff can be read under current news. All members of staff will remain employed at Uppsala University and no one will be made redundant. Research and education will be unaffected and will maintain the same high standards as previously.

Important dates:

  • On 2 November, consultations took place with the Vice-Chancellor concerning the preparation of a decision by the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy to close the Department of Neuroscience and transfer its activities to other departments.
     
  • On 17 November, a work environment risk assessment will be carried out.
  • On 15 December, the Disciplinary Domain Board will decide on reassignments, provided that the Vice-Chancellor takes a decision on closure on 16 December.
  • On 16 December, the Vice-Chancellor is expected to take the formal decision to close the department.
     
  • From 1 January 2022, new organisation at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy.
